Flame Wars & Debating
No, no, no, and no. If you want to debate there are other sites at which you can debate, here is not the place. If I have made a mistake and posted a comment that is against the rules I would prefer you tell me. The reason for this rule is that online debates never go well. You most likely do not know the person whom you disagree with and you are never going to get them to agree with you. The other reason for this rule is that online, people are more prone to saying (or typing!) things that they would never say in real life. One of the reasons is you are staring at some words on a computer screen, not someone’s face. And when you are staring at some words on a computer screen it’s much easier to get carried away with what you say. So if you want to put up an opposing opinion to a comment or post fine, but do not engage in debate (meaning you should not put you opposing view-point comment as a response to the comment you disagree with, you can respond if you want to positive feed back however), and yes, I’m aware I’m not giving you freedom of speech but It’s my blog so guess what, I don’t have to! But my main reason for this rule is, I don’t want to hear your stupid little flame war, I haven’t the time, after all, I do have to blog!
Moderation
All comments are moderated and have to be approved before they can be posted. The reason for this is to weed out advertizing, trolling, flame wars, hate comments, and so on. It might take a few days until your comment actually does get posted but you can be assured that if your comment is within the rules, it will eventually be posted.
